Homemade Laundry Detergent Recipe

All I can say is THANK YOU AMY! She turned me on to making my own detergent. It's cheap and really works--and we have hard water--so getting the stink out has been a challenge.

It's super easy--equal parts of grated Fel's Bar Laundry Soap, Borax and Arm and Hammer Washing Soda.

I usually make a six cup batch and store it in large washed out coffee can. The Fel's also works great as a stain remover--just pretreat it by rubbing the stain with the bar. It even get's out motor oil.

CAUTION: Some people have had problems with this recipe and diapers as far as build up. I personally haven't--that's why I recommend it. I also have not tested this with one of the new front loading machines. We have one of the traditional top loaders.
